George Kinloch 16
Hob has just started biting after being fine for the last week or so. I ly biting when I let him out in the run. Sure it's just excitement. How do I go about stopping it? Quote Link to post
joe14 98
Is he biting and drawing blood or nipping. Does he latch on or just grab and let go? Is it when you pick him up or? How old is he? Does he live on his own? Edited August 29, 2012 by joe14 Quote Link to post
George Kinloch 16
He occasionally draws blood. But mainly not. He latched on once and let go pretty quickly when i tapped his nose. He lives with another hob and he is 4months old. It's generally when I pick him up. He doesn't mind being picked up but he doesn't like to be held for long. Thanks George Quote Link to post
pie-eater 377
When he bites push your finger into his mouth a little this soon puts them off. Quote Link to post

Thanks George Sounds like he might be trying to play but just abit too rough. Are they getting out to run about etc. Get some olive oil put it on your fist, if he licks and bites shout NO and take away your hand, keep re offering until he realises biting = no treat. You can get malt paste from pets at home aswell if thats easier. If he does struggle or bite do not put them down. And if he does bite do not pull your finger out, push your finger in. Dont tap/hit/flick him, it will just make him fear hands. Edited August 29, 2012 by joe14 Quote Link to post
George Kinloch 16
Thanks for the advice I will try all of those things. I think he is just playing. But my skin is more delicate than his. Lol Quote Link to post
AndyKelly 251
you can get bitter apple spray from all good pet shops and works a treat on biters as it tastes foul and soon stops the biting Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
He's only four months old, keep handling him every day and he should stop, how old is the other hob he's in with? 1 Quote Link to post
George Kinloch 16
They are both brothers so are both 4 weeks old. Crazy things. All the wanna do is wrestle and play. O and devour entire rabbits. Lol Can't have them in the house so had them out in rain and shine so hopefully they will be hardy things not afraid of any weather. Quote Link to post

They'll be ok until next spring, then I would split them just to be on the safe side, you'll know when the come into season, because they stink when they scent mark 1 Quote Link to post
