Hi all just looking some information regarding a .243 rifle. I have been shooting now for 6 years and have been using shotguns air rifles and a .22 rimfire. And have been thinking about getting a bigger rifle for foxes and the occasional deer further down the line. I know that it is not about the quantity of land that you have but the suitablity of the land but what would be the minimum amount of land that you would need to apply for a .243 centre fire rifle. hi i know a lad got his deer rifle wirh 70 acres, think you need dsc level one though

I believe there are very few instances where 243 will be granted for fox in ni. Your best bet may be to get a 223 , do your dsc and then apply for 243 for deer and try to get it added for fox.

I never knew,that DSC was now a minimum requirement,since when did the law change,as far as I am aware you have to prove good reason to have one,the police are there to uphold the law not there personal opinions,
