Could you charge a Super 10 with a BOC Oxygen bottle

Recommended Posts

Hi

could you fill a Super10 buddy bottle with a BOC Oxygen bottle they go to about 300 bar

thanks Owen

If you want to visit A&E, go ahead. Seriously, don't charge your air rifle with oxygen, it's very likely to explode destroying the rifle and injuring/killing you.

NO!

People who fill air bottles will not be able to fill that as it has a different fitting. It is also the property of BOC, you do not own that bottle. It will also need purging of oxygen as filling any PCP with oxygen is dangerous, lethal potentially.

As above plus here's a pic of a rapid I think that was filled with oxygen

Hi Mike, so is that a maybe

ive seen the bottles used before but with normal air put in them and diffrent valves put on them but NOT pure oxegen BOOM!!!!

Hi

Was wondering though is there a fitting for a boc bottle that could fill a air rifle

Thanks

But usin just compressed air

In that case, yes. I fill my 12L 232bar bottle from a similar 230bar bottle using a decant rig I had made up. You'll need to do something like this, but with a gauge too (don't rely on the one of the rifle/bottle, if it has one) and terminating in a fitting for your rifle/bottle.

Just don't do it with oxygen, and make sure any compressed air is dry.

• 2 weeks later...

Stirrup pump. It's not that hard and will save on trips filling bottles and the fuel in the car for those trips.

oxy acetylene welding training when an apprentice taught me never to mix oxygen and any grease or oil EVER!

• 2 weeks later...

oxygen and oil mixed is an explosion risk. dont stirrup pumps allow moisture into rifle?

Why not of paying the 130 pound a year for the boc bottle just buy a divers bottle once for 130

liquid oxygen and oil/greese = one mother fooker of a bang, i use to teach safe handling of lox and lin and one of the demonstrations was adding a drop of oil to a drop of lox, made alot of people jump i can tell you

Have a look at http://www.bestfittings.co.uk/default.asp to see if there is an adaptor. The advice about NOT using oxygen is sound. Stay away from it !!!
