tegater 789
Looking at the price of water at Olympic events and it is being sold at 1.60 for 500ml. Now on my reckoning that is double the price of fuel per litre, and the government don't even tax it the same! That for me really is taking advantage of the fact that you can't take liquids into the venues! All the outlets should be called "dick turpins"
Born Hunter 17,974
You'll pay the same at a Game fair or service station. For Christ sake it's not that bad.

Maybe you would..But you,d also have the choice not to aswell...Simply by not allowing liquids into the games allows the vendors to set a sky high price which is wholly unacceptable imo..Knowing full well that its buy it..or dehydrate and make yourself/kids very poorly indeed... scothunter 12,609
I'd say it's thier duty to provide water free of charge, if they are not allowing you to take your own. Like has been said, to deny it. Could lead to someone being taken ill.

gonetoearth 5,144
I agree bud but it's the same all over the capital it's a free market we could moan and whine about the price of things from motorway service stations to the cost of water at the olympics. Does my head in too but am sport mad so it's just part of it Edited July 30, 2012 by gonetoearth
Born Hunter 17,974
What's an exceptable limit then? It's not like they're charging any more than any other public event. It wouldn't have been a bad idea to put out water fountains I guess. It just seems like a lot of people are jumping on anything they can for a good moan.

Like feck I will, bought a local paper at the last Game Fair I went to, came with 2 bottles of water and a couple of bags of sweets as well! Did not need to spend any money on drinks after that! Cost, cost of the newspaper, 50p! Edited July 30, 2012 by secretagentmole
