start on the lamp

Bedlington Terriers AREN'T mute. They were called the "Silent Terrier" as they went in and mixed it with their quarry; not sit off and bay at it ! A Beddy or Beddy X Lurcher will yap like the best of them if entered to young or over matched

Cheers.

Hi Joe, I live in the Deal area of Kent and have two lurchers, a 9 month old saluki x which i recently rescued and my son has a 2 year old whippet x. I would be happy to meet up for a mooch when the season is here and do a bit of lamping and ferreting if you want to? PM if you want and we can arrange a time and date to go out.

i have the same x as you, i had her out at 5mths with the ferrets, only about an hour twice a week letting her hold a few in the net. when she was 7 mths i had her out watching another bitch on the lamp and at the end of the night i would slip her on an easy rabbit, only when she was 14mths did she have 4 or 5 runs on the rabbits, get her out on the next windy night and slip her on an easy rabbit, by easy i mean one that is well out as is squatting, walk right up to it and only slip the dog when the rabbit moves, then you will know if it's ready to start, atb.
