Guest Rabbiteer
Am going to be away at the beginning of next season. I dont want it to be a surprise introduction to the longnets so I thought I would have a few games with my dogs favouite toy (rabbit dummy). Before you mention the state of the net and length of the poles I was trying to train my dogs not catch rabbits infront of my house. The first dog is three years old, Loves being out doors but is abit hard mouthed. When she retrieves pigeons they very rarely come back intact. I think she is some sort of Jack Russel X but not to sure My wifes dog.............Georgie........ Somehow I dont think that ferreting blood isnt too strong in her family history............... And this is Little Ted and is coming on really well (in my mind anyway). He has had a few play sessions with the nets and now doesnt follow the dummy into them, but waits for me to grab it. I only hope that this continues and I dont blow by doing something stupid. Ted when I first got him Little Ted today at approx 5 months old. I am really looking forward to working him with the ferrets. I take both him and one of the hobs out for a walk together during the evnings and they are getting on great guns. Wishing you all the best, Nik Edited May 26, 2007 by Rabbiteer Quote Link to post

gnipper 6,953
Could you not throw a ball for him over it and into it etc to get him expecting the net when he isn't focusing on it if that makes any sense? I've only had my longnet out a few times but it will be getting some hammer this season and i'm gonna struggle getting this braindead whippet to spot it she will jump it now and if she is jogging but she is thick Cheers, gnipper Quote Link to post
Guest The Big Fish
Was that a recent pic or one before he was injured? After the injury, you see he still aint learnt nothing Then there was the tensile strength test on chalkwarrens brand new hand made longnet What a muppet. But i am reliably informed, that the net is strong and didnt stretch another 10 yards in length. Quote Link to post
