Six Pound per dog ????? That's insane !! Allmost every show is only one pound, the odd show is two pounds !!! Even if it is for charity; you're doing yourselfs no favours, not many will turn up, only the dedicated rosette hunters, they may as well stay home and buy themselves a trophy ! LOL !..... haven't you heard there's a reccesion on ???????

its not my show fellas, its my mates show. what is the average price for a lurcher show, i can only tell him and see what he says

just got off the phone to him, there was a mix with the price, its £4 on the day, the 6 quid was for the horses as there is a horse show on the day aswell, but he did say the more dogs you enter the cheaper it is per dog

The "average" price is ONE POUND A DOG !! Four pound a dog is way to high ! I'm all for supporting charity shows....... but you won't get many entrants at that price.

i tried my best fellas, i can understand why you lot wont come, i will try and hold one in august for a quid a class, even if i make ends meet if all just be for the crack

Judging by the class's, entry fee's etc, I take it neither you or your pal have organised/run a show before ? Did you do the homework regarding third party insurance, especialy if racing is included. How about the hiring/provision of toilet facilites, etc ? It's not just a case of finding a field and having a show. I'm sure there are people on here who will galdly give you help and advice to run a show in the future.

we have run several cross country shows and showjumping events, my friend has liability insurance of 1 million pound, toilets are onsite and so is a burger van, and when they lived at there old place, held several succesful lurcher events, so i think they have the right experience to run one, as i have said previosly, i have nothing to do with the show, only helping them advertise it

Have a word wirh your mate 2 quid a class will draw more people which will draw more money in.Take the money at the ring hassel free. Is there any qualifiers

i know that your only advertising for your friend but the prices are a bit much.....

 

what price were the classes at the several succesful lurcher events.... if it was more than a couple of quid i doubt they were succesful...and my dad says that in 35 years of having lurchers and saluki x's ....... he has never ever seen whippets judged with the terriers....

 

my dad and his mates held a very successful show at spenny dog track years ago and half of the takings went to Blue Acres ... which is now Stray Aid.....

i think they raised over £200 for them...

 

i hope you raise some money for stray aid but i think that in this case...less is more...
