higgins 75
went feretting with Tom on here and his new dog,a Patterdale called Butch, and a ferret we bought from Rocky4.We feretted a field on an industrial estate which had a few rabbit warrens, the ferret did well bolting a few from each warren, the first rabbit was caught in the purse net,the second was caught by Tom's terrier as it tried bolting! After,we tried rebolting a rabbit which ran down a one holer, the jill bolted two from it,then i remembered i had my camera so took these on the last one hole we did! Butch the polecat jill the course Tom i think you need a lurcher mate! Quote Link to post

higgins 75
they try their hardest does it work earths, or just bunnies? good looking digging dog! we don't know what he is capable of just yet,the lad's only had the dog a few weeks, but we were trying him out to break him to the ferret and let him see bunnies bolting, the dog was rock steady and sat patiently watching the proceedings with interest, wasn't going barmy like some do,i was impressed with his steadyness for a terrier, Higgins. Phil Lloyd 10,740
Well done lads,.. We often use the Patterdales,.the Blacks and the Chocs,..on jobs where a lurcher is not allowed They are real steady at the job,.but still flash to ground on the 'other fecking things',...if you don't watch em .. All the best,.CHALKWARREN...... Edited May 19, 2007 by CHALKWARREN Quote Link to post
Guest MOLLY
A steady terrier is a joy to own Especially when you need to trust it around the bird aswell as the ferrets. Well done Butch. MOLL. Quote Link to post
higgins 75
nice one Moll & Chalkwarren,to be honest i was curious as to how he would be if he saw the bunnies bolting he would switch his obsession for the ferret to bunnies instead,it seems to be working although i personally wouldn't trust a patt with a ferret unless it was supervised, just nervousness on my part, seen a few ferrets come to a sticky end with the patts, but also seen some other terriers brilliant with them, all the best, Higgins.
