flames coming out of my breech on a semi auto

Took my hatsan escort out last night and noticed a 2inch flame came out of the ejector, i hadnt notices this before so called a local gun shop that told me it could be that i havnt cleand it since i bought it 2 weeks ago and it could be the egector holding open for just a second so i cleaned and oiled it but still getting a slight flame, is this normal?

Yep its perfectly normal with most semi auto,s , its more noticeable at night time for obvious reasons ,don't worry about it.

Yep normal, more so with some cartridges than others.

Damp cartridges can be the cause of this aswell. As said earlier its perfectly normal.

I'll always remember years ago when I got my Franchi semi auto and was feeding it on Baikal / Record cartridges. At a local clay club shooting near to dusk the flames coming out when the cartridges eject was very impressive. The lads with their posh O/Us and expensive cartridges werent too impressed though

I shoot a beretta urika 2 & like has been said quite normal, when i use fiochi shells i notice it big time, nowt to worry about, bit dazzling at night though when out foxing with 3" magnums !
