Terriers eyes,help please

Recommended Posts

Hi Lee

Take a sterile saline solution out in the field with you and always wash her eyes out thoroughly whenever she gets any dirt or debris in them.

It's cheap to buy from your chemist, and comes in boxes of separate sealed ampules, or as a small squeezy bottle, or you can prepare your own by boling water and adding common table salt.

For existing problems bathe the eye 3-4 times a day, use separate cotton pads each time you bathe and for each eye (to avoid cross contamination either to the eyes or the solution) and consult your vet immediately should you see any sign of milkiness in the eye, as it might be an eye injury which is the root cause of your problem.

Sounds like it could be entropian,a condition where the eye lid turns inwards causing the eye lashes to rub against the eye, very uncomfortable for the dog,but can be corrected by surgery, however it is hereditry and will be passed on to offspring,
