Do you have a preference Rough or Smooth coat lurchers

i do like smooth, but having a bit more coat not long+ rough, but more of a dence coat like a lab, would be good.Keep the dog warmer+ dry on a cold+ wet night, and help with cuts of fences+ bites.!

good thing about a smooth coat is you can see the muscle condition easy, but i like rough coats cos they are best

I like both hairy dogs and smooth dogs but prefer short/smooth hair abit odd don't know why lol

hard question for me that as i love all types of lurchers regardles of smooth or rough think their a few advantages of rough coat like has been metioned but nothink in it realy

The most practical I should think is a dence broken coat, not long or smooth but inbetween. Tis personal preference really, but a waterproof coat is a benefit.

If i went to pick a pup and they ticked all the boxes in the same way but 1 was rough and 1 was smooth i would pick the rough coated dog ,just a personal preference and even more so if they are brindle or fawn

AS long as they cacth the qaurry mate , and are bred [bANNED TEXT] of working parents when i worked the hill higk country had rough breardie cross and dog out of bob katie , broken coated , they took weather easy , but on the low lying tlat land next to sea i like the smooth coats , but doesnt bother me , but if you do alot of high country ferreting a good dense coat helps adog standing about waiting for bolts digging etc always will hence the scorrish deerhound in the old days working beardie an dthe ld scottish highland teriers

Whip/bedlington x whip/grey,at the moment the little dog looks like he's going to be broken coated, but not too sure with the bitch yet
