if youve got a numpty on the other end of the lead ,doesent matter how well the dog is bred it wont achieve its full potensial

In my opinion it doesnt matter where the dog lives as long as it has the drive and ability , poachers in the old days had dog in house and they would run rings round todays dogs taking fur , feather d

i kep mines in coal sheds so they see better at nite, best way , all th old poachers dogs were kept in coal cellars
And do you keep your day time dogs in a Lighthouse Whin? lol ;)

Just a after thought whin, where did you keep your coal or are you with Eon :tongue2:

My 2 are in travel cages in the house but my brothers starting to crawl soon so there going to have to go outside. Think it's easier indoors don't have to worry about keeping them warm when they come back wet after working on cold nights

My old terrier old lurcher and lurcher pup are kept in the house...i have a big pat x border that is unpecictable around the other dog's..he is in the house by day and sleep's in a sky kennel in a double garage by night which work's out well really as he is a good alarm call if anyone tries to burgle my garage..i wont keep dog's in outside kennel's and run's like i used to for the simple fact dog theft has gone through the roof over the past several year's..

I have them in and out depending on whats going on with me routine ~ work ~ hunting.

Cant leave one in the run when the other gose lamping, they would both howl and bark. If they as left alone or togther in the day they are silent they just know they are missing the lamping.

Got one dog in the house at the moment it had a toe off,so I like to limit its movement in a crate. Its regularly excersised however at my terms no free running~ dashing about.

From my own experiance when the dogs are outside they have better coats..

My kennels are fort knocks CCTV the lot dog theifs are riffe. I Recon if someone traveled to nick your mutt and it was in the house They would do a window and still nick the dog.

Stop readihg books or listening to old men, mate ! The dogs of today are fitter, better fed, better trained and better bred than "the old days" !! Believe me !!

Cheers.

I disagree as there are a lot more idiots about these days, not many men have the knowledge. Back in the day lurchers were kept to fill the pot, today they are mostly used for sport. Plus most lurchers outhere are not bred best to best so there's no real improvement. I guess the coursing dogs have improved through careful breedings over the years but don't agree with the lurchers being any better than years ago
