I have about 15 different ones and get on best with my gamekeeper john one quite good with others but that one seems to work best for me and I use 10mm steel lol can't get on that well with leagdmite get a 10mm mould and have a go bt everyones different but I wud say theraband all the way especially double taperd spot on hope u find one that works for ya mate:)

An alternative to wood, aluminium, brass etc is polymer. It is extremely strong, never needs varnish or any other finish, it is water proof it floats and can be used with almost any type of band example here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180976850028&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT

Are some chopping boards made from this plastic ?

Hdpe....same material as industrial chopping boards.

 

Not made by me.

 

Only thing not 100% with it.....

 

Is if your hands are a little sweaty its hard to grip as its so smooth.
