just read a article from a family member from ireland !! the treatment of spanish coursing dogs [bANNED TEXT] not needed at the end of the season, to put a dog asleep is fair enough ,but to put a tube or stick in it,s mouth so it can't eat or drink for several days is just sad, it might be a cheap way to kill a dog but to see a dog suffer like that is SAD , it would be more humane to drown um !!! just seeing the pic of a pile of greyhounds dead with tubes in their mouth made me blood boil , senseless suffering ,i,ll try and get the link up but i,m shit with computers!!!

dont no why brits dont use galgos for breeding into lurcher lines rather than our track greyhounds as they seem to have more wind to start with .

ive seen a few run on the track in europe ,they are 'quick ''seem to have abit more wind than our greys ,must admit i did like the look of the ones i saw , they were only running over 480 mtrs, ,cant remember the times they were running 29, ;;30 , around that time i think , cant remember ;;.

saw several galgos work some beat the saluks hand down at coursing there next to arite good well bred saluk lurcher , never saw any here in us a but they can run and do well , on tough jack rabbits guys better than agreyhound or a saluki the best ones what ive saw , but they did have good hunting owners

Galgos are prone to opening up, that's why they aren't used. Anyone that's genuinely seen them working would know that.

whippets have a tendicy to open up but alot are used in lurcher breeding

ive seen quite a few very well bred coursing dogs open up ,, but as there owners say,, so long as they catch.

 

there are many breeds like chester sugested with whippets that make up lurchers that open up,,, collies can be yappy, but we still use them to produce lurchers

saw five and none opend up pretty quite they ranged from smooth saluki looking but a bit more muscle to broken coated saluki looking , never heard them yellping cause hare got away , the ones i saw were more than decent
