It easy happens mate. My lurcher knocked my littlest over in the summer and he broke his arm when we were all out after a ball. I knew it wasn't the dogs fault, but as you say for the first few seconds the shock makes you want to kill the fecking thing..

 

 

if thats the way you treat dogs dont think you should be aloud to have them... feel sorry for your kids if they do any think wrong, will they get boot in ribs as well.

 

If you think dogs should be treated equally as kids, maybe you shouldn't be aloud either...

If the kids have 3 bowls of grub a day, plenty of fresh water a warm bed of straw then no one can complain I even walk them for half an hour a day

Cheers pal, he only had the cast on for two weeks. It wasn't a bad break and their bones heal at a phenomenal rate when they're that young. He wasn't bothered by it at all.

What your sons done imo was good, he showed the young pup to respect him, (if one of mine runs pasts and nearly scats me flying) their called back and given a right telling off, the pup has probably learn't to stay clear from your son now when he's goofing about with other dogs,...

accidents happen mate i get like it when the dog jumps the baby gate and knocks my 2 year old girl but she gives more than she gets im just glad the dog just takes it and moves away rather than snapping or worse with her but it is shock factor at first and your first instinct is to protect your child

Glad your lad is alright, these things happen. However, perhaps have a chat to him about getting physical with the pup. After all it is just a pup and at that point the pup wouldn't have made any connection between your lad hitting it and it's lack of spatial judgement . I do realise that a two year old isn't likely to do harm/bother to a good strong pup however he won't be two forever and now would be a good time for him to learn that ye don't take 'revenge' on a pup for making a daft mistake. Not having a go, just think that would benefit your lad as a [hopefully] future dogman.

I no were your coming from hes been brought up with them from love his we pups was out with me when they were born shouts at me if shout at them but hes young an kids r the same with other kid never mind a pup the pups r just over 13 months they no him from day one he knows clip a dog on the nose a tug on the lead but even u an i lose your temper they made friends again when he got washed an changed told the dog it was a wee accident he tought the rights an wrong of the way to treat an animal cheers for the advice tho :-)
