An Idiots Guide....

Recommended Posts

To the HW35?

Needs a good clean (no idea...) and as yet has no pellets - but im a complete newbie so simple jargon please!! (bought it years ago and just found it in the garage.)

Just looking to get it clean and take out some targets before we eventually get rid of some rabbits.

My idiots guide would be, clean rust off the action with tinfoil and oil. Then take gun as a whole to a gunsmith who specialises in air weapons and say, "Service this please!". A decent gun deserves respectful treatment! You will probably need new seals at the least. Where in the country are you?

Take to stock off then spray the whole thing in WD40 and give it a good wipe over with a beer mat.

Have a look down the barrel and see if its rusted, do not put any oil or WD40 down there.

Go to gun shop - buy tin of pellets.

Fire a load through the gun at a safe target in your garden. See how its grouping.

Putting some lead down the barrel wil start to clean out any rust.

Just give the outside a clean off first, dont worry about seals etc just yet as its made by HW and the internals may well be in very good condition even if its been in the garage for a while.
