big yin 3
ive started getting beef trimming from local butcher for free, but when compared to the beef i bought its very fatty (obviously the trimmings are the off cuts), it does have some meat on it but when put through the mincer its mainly fat, is there any issues with feeding such fatty meat?(amount etc), its mixed with gain

skycat 6,172
Adding a lot of fat to a diet which is already 'complete' (as in a complete dry food) can cause diarrhoea, plus a lot of extra calories. Dogs convert fat into energy first, but if they get too much it gets laid down as fat in the body. Use extra fat with caution if the diet is already complete, but great in cold weather and when the dog is working very hard.

Attack Fell Terrier 864
During the harsh winter months I'd feed it no problem, with a little trial and error you'll find out how much is best to feed it.
