what do you feed your dogs?

Recommended Posts

just out of interest on what people feed there dogs? The pup for breakfast has 2 and a half weetabix and goats milk, 2nd meal is rolled oats and a raw egg mixed together with a small amount of goats milk. 3rd meal is either raw meaty bones or rabbit/ tripe/chicken wings/butchers off cuts in a bowl with oats/wholemeal bread soaked in goats milk with brewers yeast and cod liver oil, my greyhound and terrier have same diet but only twice a day. Ive always fed my dogs on complete dog food or tinned with mixer but they constantly had runs etc. my mum gave me a book called "give your dog a bone"

and to cut a long story short your dogs diet should consist of 80% raw food, rolled oats and eggs are a good source of vitamins and minerals. raw chicken wings are very good for your dog. the problem with complete dog foods are they are all cooked and baked at a high temperature and all the goodness has gone. On a sunday i buy extra veg like potatoes, carrots, and the dogs love them. Its not an expensive way of feeding your dogs and they benefit from it so much, i can see the difference in there condition for example there coats shine and my greyhound sufferd from a poor coat. theres half the amount of dog shit to pick up because in complete food and all that processed shit theres so much shit in it the dogs were crapping all fekkin day. the way i see it now is i wouldnt eat the same old dried up tasteless shit everyday so why would my dogs? they love meal times now and theres never any left overs like before when i had to mix there food with gravy just to get them to eat it

Pot noodles, Cheese strings and Tic tacs.

Mine gets 2 chicken carcasses or lamb bones half-a-pound of butchers mince and chopped up veg/fruit from the reduced section in Tescos. Once a week or so he gets an egg or some sardines in oil.

I read in CW the other day that egg must be cooked. What do you reckon?

Didn't read it so not sure of their reasoning, cooked egg does digest slightly better than raw, some bit of research I read somewhere, but the difference is tiny and not worth the effort.

There are no real carbs in your diet so the dog will have to converts fat into glucose, waste of fat and harder than breaking down carbs.
