I set some Fenns this morning in some rabbit holes,by this afternoon i had caught one poor devil with a good neck catch,but it was still alive,i am never very impressed with the Fenn ability on full grown rabbits.i also had two traps set slightly too high and had not closed fully,so i lowered them a bit so hopefully tomorrow will be better.I do like to fit longer chains on my traps,i always seem to struggle with the standard chains.I would like to know if anyone has much luck block trapping using bodygrips and how is the best way to set them,with a cubbie still or just set back in the hole a bit.

well i set my magnum body grip trap earlier today and i set that slightly back in the hole to follow the UK law and pegged that down so hopefully I've i catch ill post up some pics i also set a Fenn and snares never trapped or snared anything in my life yet so hopefully tomorrow will be my first ill try and post pics if i do if i ever find out how to!

put toilet roll over the trap before covering it with soil it will stop the soil going under the plate plus i dont find the mk4 a problem 4 rabbits seems to do the job 4 me if anything the mk6 is overkill

apart from being illegal using a mk 4 on rabbit on a young rabbit it might be enough but a full grown rabbit not quick enough, how can a mk 6 be over kill, once its dead its dead

A MK 6 often struggles to kill big rabbits,i am sick of finding live rabbits in them and they are not miscaught,let alone the ones that have been caught and pulled out.From now on i will be building up my stock of Imbras and Jubies and gradually just keeping the Fenns for the rats.

Yes real Fenns,i have neck caught ones in new traps and still not dead,also the amount of rabbits that have been caught and got free bothers me,i double check the height to the roof of the tunnel,but i still get too many with just fur left in them,im always free to meet up for a lesson Nod to see what you do different.

i have this problem with my fenn trap its been set off and with a little bit of fur left by the cheeky rabbit!

Get yourself a ferret mate as you arent cut out for trapping ,lol.

had ferrets before but ive only just started traping you cant tell me that im not cut out for it when i havent even been doing it much if i was doing for like half a year or so and still the same id say fair play and listen to you but im learning so give us a break im learning

I would go with the post above. Feens are great for squirrel, rat, mink etc. for rabbits i would get your self some 116 body grip traps from pro trapper. no worry about soil getting under the trigger and alot easier to place. Also when i used the Mk6 on rabbits i always got fur or the odd rabbit nipple. with the 116 body grip if something sets it off, its dead.

ive got myself a bodygrip trap aswell and havent been able to use it yet im going out sunday with it and will inform on how it goes
