Lurcher Books

Recommended Posts

you know what I enjoyed plummers tales

I think the statistic was that at one period of time his books were the most stolen from british public libraries  I have one of the misprinted "Modern Ferretting" originals, only a small number were churned out before someone proof-read and spotted the spelling mistake.Like him or loathe him he certainly carved a niche for himself and has anyone since been more prolific?

The Modern Working Terrier by Michael Shaw (Plummer pseudonym) - Worth having and better with time, but proof that Plummer was an odd man.

I agree with Mackem love him or hate him Plummer produced some very readable books. First lurcher book i ever read was The Complete Lurcher the original copy. I also had it from a very good friend of his the he wrote under the name Michael Shaw. Another very good read, but not cheap if you can get your hands on it is Coursing the pursuit of game with sighthounds .
