Very distinctive bitch Stolen

Rescue shelters don't take dogs off folks tho - only the aRSePCA. I could be wrong?

Yes some people in rescue like to make a big hooha out of saving an animal. Yes, some people like a sob story. Some rescues are crap, some are good. And most certainly yes, a lot of the dogs that go through them have had traumatic times at the hands of knob heads. The fees, tho, don't usually cover the neuter/spay, vax, food ... not to mention medical treatment when it's needed. They treat it like a business but shouldn't they? After all they have overheads just like anybody else. Their business is helping dogs that need it, no? And if they didn't approach it as a business they wouldn't be able to help anybody when they ran out of money. Sure the Dog's Trust is run like a business. The aRSePCA tho are in a class of their own - let's not go there.

Sometimes I don't agree with things that some rescues do. I don't always agree with their attitudes about hunting, who is or isn't suitable to own a dog, etc etc. But so what - I don't agree with a lot of people about a lot things, doesn't mean they're better or worse than I am, just not on the same wavelength.

I really do fail to see how the theft of an animal from a shelter can be argued as positive?

And anyways this is going way off the mark - the dog posted by the OP was STOLEN. Can we stay focussed on that? For all we know this dog was stolen by someone who fancies skinning it alive to see if it cries. It happens, you know. Maybe it was stolen by some f*cker who fancies running it to near death and then leaving it tied to a tree with a bag of lettuce for company.

I really hope the dog is found, safe and well.

 good girl

So lets get this straight, dog theft is ok, as long as it's from an animal shelter???

If its your own dog then yes..........

Aye, which is a fairly massive assumption that came out of cuckoo land.

Taking your own dogs is fine.

But saying it's ok to take a dog as long as you work it. . . . .wherever you take it from,

Or that it being put down is better than being in a shelter that will rehome it. . . . . .

Is a bit shit.

Wonder what you'd say if, for instance, one of your top coursing dogs was lost - then found, and you were notified, and it was in a shelter. And before you'd managed to get there someone broke in and stole it.

You'd be heartbroken.

Or maybe you'd not give damn. I'd say that's miles worse.

Or anything is better than shelter. Perhaps they should all just be PTS the moment the dog warden picks them up.

how has someone managed to break into a rescue centre to steal the dog in the first place? not trying to start an argument or anything like that here but most of the rescue centres around my area are built like fort knocks! im talking BIG walls (to stop dogs escapeing) plus there penned.

hopefully they spend a lot of money trying to get the dog back but dont.

your i nice a fella arnt ya

I hate rescue centres, theres no excuse to allow any animal to have to go to one,the animals they claim to love would be in a far better way if they didn't exist imo.

theyre self perpetuating, family buy a dog on a whim dont train, socialise it,get bored etc so dump it in a rescue when it gets too much (which is worse on the dog than destroying it imo), then buy a new dog, safe in the knowledge fluffy will live his days out in the rescue centre.

if they had to pts that dog themselves (or even dump it but it safe in the knowledge it would be destroyed) that may just make them think twice about puppy number 2+3+4 etc etc etc
