Rolfe 2
Had some amazing good fortune today when i was informed an area of Ash self-set saplings was going to be cleared and grubbed out." Help yourself to whatever you want" was the answer to my request to cut a few walking stick shanks, thumb sticks and long net pegs. I cut some lovely straight shanks of mainly ash but a few hazel ones as well and a good supply of long net pegs. Nothing will be wasted as any shanks that don't make the grade will be used for snare and trap holding pegs and the thinner stuff for purse net pegs. What made me really smile was it was "Ash Wednesday".........You couldn't make it up.
