Deer evidence..but no body!

Recommended Posts

I live in Ireland and was all preban anyway(you miserable anti b****ds)

My dog took off after a roe he bushed out(by accident we were shooting pheasant) but off they went ....lost him for a while so i went round the outside of the wood calling so he could hear me while my mate was in the wood looking!! its a thick bit of wood!! After say 10 min or so my mates terrier nearly got the deer my dog had lost it and was searching for it in a sort of bouncy idiot way he does but from time to time it works so he keeps doing it!! but thats another post!!!

The deer was clearly fuct as my mates terrier nearly got it my mate managed to catch my dog as its no deer rule there! there was hair round his mouth not alot but looked like leg hair, poss neck but more likely leg...it was short and white.....but he has a large lump under his jaw with a cut on it looks like a whack from a hoof to me....

Is it common or happen for a dog to get a kick to the jaw or pull a deer and get kicked off?? he has pulled 5 deer in his lifeand none stood a chance of getting away!

But i have no idea what happened, could someone enlighten me as to what could have or if its something that just happens from time to time with all dogs??

it'll be one of those things! pre ban my dog would always grab them by the arse end!!! used to do my head in cos it caused damage to that leg! but if he got hold, like you say he'd never let go!!! my mates dog took a kick in the face off one, but its the only time i've known it, probably just bad timing, she kept hold though!!!!!!!!
