In the 5 years iv'e had my allotment, Iv'e tried Duke of York, Rocket, Home Guard, Sutton's Foremost and Pentland Javelin. Apart from Pentland Javelin none of them tasted anything like i remember new potatoes tasted when my Dad used to grow them. My soil is very heavy and Clayey, but grows good veg. Can anyone recommend me a different variety i could try ?? I'm sorted for second and main crop, just not first earlies. Cheers, Arch. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Think i'm going to give the Sharpe's a go this year. Simply because iv'e seen them before in the garden centre, and i haven't the others.
