COME HUNT WITH ME AT THE DAWN OF DAY,

O'RE THE MOORLAND MOUNTAIN AND SCREE,

FOLLOW ME TILL THE END OF DAY,

THEN JOIN ME IN HARMONY,

NO GREATER PLEASURE CAN BE FOUND,

I HOPE YOU WILL AGREE,

THAN TO HUNT WITH HOUNDS WHERE THERE'S NO BOUNDS

AYE AND HUNT TO ETERNITY,

WITH ME YOU'LL HEAR THE RAVEN'S CRY.

RED STAG AND EAGLE SEE ,

SCENERY TO TAKE YOUR BREATH AWAY

IF YOU WILL HUNT WITH ME

HARK NOW TO THAT GLORIOUS CRY ,

A FOX IS A FOOT AND AWAY'

THROUGH THE VALLEY SOUNDS THE CRY OF HOUNDS,

FLEE OR YOU MUST PAY

SO ONWARD FRIEND AND YOU WILL SEE,

WHAT HUNTING MEANS TO ME

A FOX AND HOUNDS AND GODS PURE AIR

WHAT LUCKY MORTALS WE ARE.

LOUDER AND NEARER DRAWS THE CRY ,

THE HUNT IS NEALY DONE

THE FOX WILL BOLT HIS BRUSH TO SAVE

THIS TIME THE HOUNDS HAVE WON

KILL HIM WE MAY BUT THIS I'LL SAY

HE'LL ALLWAYS GET FAIR PLAY

ON MOUNTAIN STEEP , OR BORAN DEEP

A CHANCE TO SLIP AWAY

SO ITS HOMEWARD BOUND THE DAY IS DONE ,

AS THE EVENING SHADOWS FALL ,

MAY THIS FIRST DAY NOT BE THE LAST,

YOU'LL HEAR THE HUNTSMAN'S HORN

A DRINK WITH ME BEFORE WE PART.

A HUNTING SONG TO END ,

A GOOD DAY GONE A NEW FRIEND WON

GOOD NIGHT MY FRIEND

RIP DAVE

Home is the Fisherman home from the sea.

And the hunter home from the hill.

No words can express this sad time, the death of any true gentleman / terrierman of the like of Dave is hard to take. Ive known Dave for many a year, never have i met a more sincere man has him. The terrier world has a big hole in it, that will never be filled. A terrierman though and though.

God bless you Dave for the wonderful memories.

You will never be forgotten!

HAVE ye heard of our hunting, o'er mountain and glen,

Through cane-brake and forest, — the hunting of men?

The lords of our land to this hunting have gone,

As the fox-hunter follows the sound of the horn;

Hark! the cheer and the hallo! the crack of the whip,

And the yell of the hound as he fastens his grip!

All blithe are our hunters, and noble their match,

Though hundreds are caught, there are millions to catch.

So speed to their hunting, o'er mountain and glen,

Through cane-brake and forest, — the hunting of men!

always in my thoughts R.I.P mate.

I'd known Dave for a number of years and had spent time with him recently! he made me smile with his gentle demeanour and outlook on life, I found out early on Monday morning of his passing and have waited till now to comment! my condolence's and thoughts are with his family at this time!

I have lost a dear friend and a sometime drinking partner, a man who was generous in spirit and in his friendship. I love visiting Wales but my next journey will be tinged with sadness to say farewell to a man of dignity who was also very humble as well as a great raconteur!!

God Bless, Dave Bonnet!!
