plenty about my permissions and plenty been shot..resident birds, they are here most of year

 

wont be long before the migratory ones are here..hold off for a few weeks when they arrive and let them get grubbed up before shooting them again

 

loads of snipe about too but there always is, just got to know where to look

we moniter them here in Devon and not seen any yet, day or night.....and even if we did its definitely too early to be (morally) shooting them in their newly migrated and light condition :thumbdown: .....give them a chance to get here, get rested and fed.

 

 

i seen a few whilst out beating the other day

 

farlap where you from ??? as i no a gamekeeper that keeps some feathers and sends them off to a uni

and apparntly they can tell exactly where they have been

because of the dust in them or somthing

Just wondering if anyone has seen or shot any Woodcock yet.

saw first one yesterday in northumberland. :yes:

They are about in numbers now. Only saw the odd one for the previous couple of weeks but the full moon has done it again.

First full moon in November is the old tale for them to arrive from the continent.
