I'd say Rocklane was possibly owned by Sandy Mc intyre. As for the Hacketstown prefix there was a few dogs named with it, whether or not it was all by the same man is another story. There's a few men on here would be able to answer that question better than myself. Hacketstown Jack was owned by J.E. Smyth.

I would agree I was lucky enough to have been in his yard too on a few occasions and seen some of his dogs and they were very impressive terriers in every way.

I think he has a knowledge of the breed and had a line of wheatens that not too many had.

Is there any of his stuff around now?

was the prefix Hacketstown , not used by Bertie Byrne?

Carlovian, I take it that's the same B Byrne that is down as a judge on one of the certs I have from the mid 60s? There's also an Ed Byrne from Dublin mentioned on another one as well. Edited by THE GENERAL

Bertie was from Hacketstown ,,,I'm sure he had Hacketstown Jack at one stage ,,,

looking at photos of working wheatens, the head shape looks the same as a glen of imaals ?. Are the wheatens a larger version of the glens ?.

I would'nt even mention the 2 of them in the same sentence, the Wheaten is a far far superior working terrier and has been proven so right down through the years.
