Its not breaking the law if you use your brain and use the right type of dog ie that will find the boar and stand and bail . no holding , or chewing . walk in and a clean shot to the head , all with i

it would have to be a very obiedent dog if not its going to be a dead one if your only using a collie mate.

HOWS THAT MATE ????

Because your 18 year's experience Pigdogs obviously counts for f**k all. If you ever need to know anything about hunting pigs with dogs ask the Judge. I bet he's done much more pig hunting than you and your pathetic 18 years!! Hey Judge, how much pig hunting have you done to know more than a pig hunting guy from New Zealand?

now you get it.

pigdogs, if a collie gets to close to a wild boar not a feral pig its going to be beheaded mate. But you know more then me.

well ive worked and seen lots of sheep dogs in the uk, very very few iu would even consider trying to work boar with. ive also shot and flushed boar... again none of them i would expect any of my collies to work.

send a collie round any boar in our countryside and you will soon wind up in a situation of not alot of stock fencing left.... a wild ass collie disaperaing into large areas of woodland.... and some very pissed off local famers.

if your going to flush these things with dogs you want strong quick dogs that wil slow them up rapidly.

ive also been round domestic/semi wild pigs, none of which have ever reacted to a collie like sheep or cattle do.

still if your going to try it, take some pics id love to see it.... id also be intrested in the dogs for furture breeding stock... if they can eye boar then they will shift cattle.

Appreciate your commenting from your experience and beliefs but sheep dogs are common if pigging crews in NZ and Oz and do the job easily. There isn't actually any debate about it. Get on an Oz of Kiwi pigging site and ask for some evidence and you'll get hundreds, if not thousands of pix of good boars bailed by sheep dogs. It's not my way of hunting, my dogs don't bail, so I have no particular barrow to push but it is just a fact. Sheep dogs will stop boars no probs.

Cheers.
