spot on them pictures how do these stags cope with a good bite?do they have a decent pain threshold?

IMO they are like typical sight hounds.....Step on a toe around the house the'll cry like a baby bird. But out on the field snap a leg and dont make a sound BUTcoyotes are a different deal. Once bit the good one will come back for more where the "messers" start ass grabbin or not making contact at all......You know what happens next right

I agree with stunt. No animal in North America that can be killed consistantly with a dog will put the "fear" into a dog like a coyote will. I dont know why but its true. I got bit on the hand and through the foot this year though and I think I got a pretty good idea why. Scott can explain it well in one sentence, "the coyote is the master of the running fight". Nothing on earth can fight and run at the same time like a coyote can.

I cant help you out much with Yote pics lads, Dan, Doc, etc are much more specialised than us!...we are humble hunters, not f*****g snobs like them Coyote boys!..lol.

My dogs are used more like Lurchers,...they get to go on everything, and anything,...they get lots of work in the season, as we are out 4-5 nights a week, unless the moon is up. 85% of my work with the big dogs is at night, and we have to cover alot of ground, but the game is there to be had. We normally run outta dogs, NOT game, and we normally take two dogs, working them single handed, just giving them a turn, one at a time, unless its a pup, then they normally work with a veteran for a few. After that, there on there own, and they cant do it, then theres not alot i can do.

I have no doubt ,Tiff...in fact , I read some research by Quail Unltd. that said ferals are hell on quail and songbirds; damn near as much as habitat loss. But, ya know how things can be perceived.

Awesome pics guy - feel like packing my bags and heading your way. Stitch is a truly great dog and the litter look like lil clones! As for the ditch cougar - if it aint illegal keep it up - no reason to be ashamed in any way, they are a menace to wildlife and need to be kept in check.
