N. TX doe hunt

Recommended Posts

Just a few pics from earlier this week with my daughter, hunting whitetail does in the mesquite/pricklypear scrub brush north of Abilene.

I really enjoy hearing about your stalks and seeing your pics, so I thought I'd share some of mine.

View from the box blind (hide).

Fat doe taken by Fishdaughter at about 150 yrds with .243. Dropped in her tracks.

I got one with my AR-15 in .223.

is that not a armidillo in the last photo?

Yes, it's an armadillo. Possum on the half-shell is just a joke. :boogie:

Well done matey.

In your 1st photo in the distance is that an elevated feeder station.

If so whats it spin?

Yep, a 50 gallon drum filled with corn. A motor on a timer runs a spinner plate that broadcasts the feed.

Not exactly a sporting stalk, but this was a management meat hunt. Still have to observe closely to take a mature doe and not a nubbin buck.

Thanks for everyone's kind comments.

Cheers,

Mark
