How to make metal targets for under a pound

Hi all,

 

After watching Davys fantastic post the other day and him shooting them really cool metal crow and rat targets i decided to make some for myself to use in the indoor range to test my scope cam out now that the adaptor as arrived.

 

I wanted to keep the cost down as much as possible so here is my talk through so other shooters can easily make the targets too.

 

1. All you need is old metal coat hangers

 

2. Some old scaffolding planks or heavy wood to use as the target bases.

 

3. Some old spoons

 

4. A drill and metal bit, 2 pairs of pliers and some wire cutters.

 

Drill a hole in a spoon right at the end as in the photo

 

Twist the spoon using the 2 pairs of pliers

 

Cut and straighten the coat hanger before making it into the shape in the photo

 

Drill 2 holes in the wood at each end to fit the wire into.

 

Feed the spoon into the wire and then fit the wire into the wood.

 

Job done.

I dont know Kev mate as i havent shot at them yet.

 

I will be out later in the range with Dylan testing them and the scope cam at different ranges.

 

Ive sort of stollen Davys idea as it was a very good one i thought .

You couldent hit one of them at 100 meters and film it they look good zini and if cut out the wooden block and stick the wire straight into the ground you could make them in about 2 mins.

Its terrible pal and snowing right now.

 

Im taking the R10 and camera to work tomorrow to shoot some vermin. The crows are everywhere again

Thats the perks of working on a military camp mate where you have miles of permission to shoot over

 

So when you making the journey up Sib to shoot some North Yorkshire vermin?

 

I will need a new job in 3 years time Sib so am counting on you finding me a good one at your place

nice DIY targets there zini,but what are you going to do, at the kids next house party!

loads of jelly and no spoons

chaz made some similiar to them for the meet last year

I am going to try to get up there in March or April depending on how I can organise my business trips.

 

I should think you've got a potential future in pest control or airgun courses/days out etc
