I'm really sorry and I'm sure it's been asked before but I'm too busy to wade through 41 pages....but what the f**k is that dog!!!!!!!!!! So here are a few photos from hunts while I've been absent. Forgive me if you've seen any before but here goes.Best set of teeth I've caught in years from about two weeks ago. They are solenoids with a press button switch in the cab. The dog is held by the push mower start cord through the D on their collar. If a pig jumps up I press the button and the dog is released. (That's Mary in the background. Nine now and still finding and grabbing big fellas.Nice set of teeth on the way home from work. Nasty boar caught by Suzie with help from Dave.Decent little boar out of the blackberries. That's Dave in the photo.He's by Bob out of Tess (all our blood) and has turned into as good a dog as I've bred. Easy to handle, great finder, fast and a ton of guts. Lets go on command too. Ned Makim 116 Posted August 16, 2014 Author Report Share Posted August 16, 2014 I'd only have one dog that big. Most of mine are around 3o kgs. As for getting them upset...be almost impossible mate. The whole concept of pig dogs is to have them determined but manageable. You can't have dogs in a volatile situation like stopping a pig that get too excited. The standard pig dog in Oz lives with kids, cats, other dogs without an issue. It's one of the things they are slected for in breeding. The vets here love them because they are calm, used to being handled and submit to all sorts of things. The on switch is flicked when dealing with a pig but flicked off again when not. 7 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
