lending a 22

hey guys got my firearms licence in 1 week very happy =)

 

just wondering on the laws on my dad lending me a 22 as he doesnt want to give me it lol,

says on the certificate lend etc, does he just write lend or do i have to own a 22?

You're better off writing a letter to your Licensing department stating that you wish the gun to be shared.

 

In which case you are both able to use it in equal measure. If they agree, then you will need to send your FAC in and have it altered so that is shows the gun on there and you're all legal.

With shared guns don't you need all the guns in the gun cupboard to be shared ? or doesn,t that cause problems with security if there other gun in the cabnet ??

yes thats right if his dad had other rifles ie 22/250, 308 etc then even tho the lad could use the 22lr he still wouldnt have keys to his dads safe as he wouldnt be aloud to get at the other rifles.

you must send off to police to get it added to your ticket. lending it is a big no no im afraid. its not like shotguns.

 

or tho ive seen it say on ticket about lending ?

he lives at a diferent house, but i have a cabinet at my house though, might have to try talking him into letting my have it lol.
