PITTO 0
When Lamping if my dog misses a rabbit he is straight back to my side and on the slip as I'm walking,The only time we stop is to get over a gate or hedge,Don't want to sound hard on my dog. I only take 1 dog lamping and am normally out for 2-3 hours. Do people stop and let there dog stop panting after every Run/Field before moving on? Or constantly lamp non- stop? Guest miller1989
If your dog is fit mate there shouldnt be much of a problem, dont run it too hard if it aint fit! Dogs only pant to keep cool. Quote Link to post
the great white hunter 1
if ya dogs pannting to much you could give ya dog 5 mins to give it a rest so you can run him again Quote Link to post
bullmastiff 610
I used to worry about this, thinking I should let him get his breath back between runs and stop panting, but I've now found if their's anything interesting going on then he stops panting! so as said their just trying to cool down a bit. if your not in a rush then just stand quiet for a bit, let them (and the disturbed rabbits) calm down, then carry on. I'm sure guys that catch big numbers have to go at it quite hard so just get the dog straight on the next Rabbit, but down here runs are few and far between so no rush!!! Quote Link to post
