First night on new permission tonight.

Recommended Posts

It's my first proper permission too, I've always gone with a mate before now.

A few weeks back I was sent into hospital with celulitis and blood poisoning. It just so happened that the guy in the next bed was the steward of a large Golf club near where I live, he explained they are overrun with rabbits and I said I'd sort it for him. He's the only staff that lives on site so he's left in charge of pest controllers as they only want people on there at night.

I've printed out an aerial view from google maps and have marked the boundaries out, got a letter of consent printed and ready to sign and I'm going up there this afternoon to recce the place in the daylight as it's huge (18 holes) and is criss crossed with brooks and I'll do well if I shoot a third of it tonight.

I'm using my sub 12ft/lb rapid at the moment but if it goes well here I'll put in for an FAC for rimfire .22 and .17hmr.

To say I'm excited is an understatement! I've always enjoyed lamping and haven't been for about 4 years. The lamps are charging and so am I.

If it all goes nicely I'll put up some pics.

L,ap was fine but I was not. I didn't do well as I'm so out of practice it's ridiculous. I also saw a need for a rimmy, It would have made life a lot easier on the open fairways where rabbits for hundred yards bolted in every direction, I just couldn't get close to them. Still, I had two and was only there just over an hour, missed loads aswell.
