OUT TODAY

Recommended Posts

Well finally managed to get out with the pea shooter after a month of non stop work  .Arrived at the top quarry for midday, gusty westerly & rain cloud looming but i was just glad to be out :) .Got set up & immediately missed my first one :icon_redface: total buck fever however further along the quarry wall took one clean out of it's seat...nerves settled :gunsmilie: .

On route to my sniping position a half grown appeared, scope on & myxi's here :censored: don't normally get it up here till late October..put it out of it's misery.Got to the sniping spot & bagged one however the midgies were driving me insane!! so i had a mooch along the quarry wall bagged two after a hour or so.I had a stalk into the wood & to get some cover from the now driving fine rain  bagged one with a decent placed shot between the fork of a tree as bugs sat there sheltering :gunsmilie: .

I had another mooch along the quarry wall & bagged another two but one was on it's last legs with myxi.Ended the day with six healthy rabbits & seen a few sitting around in the quarry bottom but no cover to reach them...i just hope the myxi passes quickly as i'll be ferreting in the next 4-6 weeks :) .

Good going there Andy

:clapper:

I notice like you many others on here gut before the trophy pic is taken, is there a particular reason for this or is it just to make carrying them about easier?

Phantom

It stops the meat tainting in the warmer months & makes the weight a touch lighter in the old backpack
