been out tonight......... first time in a long time !!!!!

havn't posted anything about my exploits for a while, because i havnt been out.

 

anyway had a phone call a couple of weeks ago from a mate of a mate, asking if i could clear some ferals and some crows.

 

so i went and had a look round and it is a small farm with approx 70 acres of meadow land , 15 acres of woodland and the barns and other out buildings.

 

so, all in all a fairly decent little plot.

 

had a very quick wander round with the land order and he signed the permission forms and took a photo copy of my details and insurance and we where ready to rock and roll.

 

only concentrated around the yard today as i havnt had time to reccy the land properly, as i like to familiarise myself with the layout prior to shooting just in case there are any hidden dangers.

 

anyway, nothing doing for the first hour, so checked zero and tweaked accordingly.

 

as i had just finished the crows where coming into the paddock behind the barn, i counted 26 all together so squated down behind the wall and peeped round the gate stoop.......8 of the buggers sat 20 yards away...thwack,thwack,thwack,thwack 4 of em as quick as that, a good start.

 

left them where they fell and had to wait another 20 mins or so for the spooked ones to come back.......same routine, and another 3 bite the dust.

 

anyway the crows got wise and disappeared !!!!!!................but as luck would have it the ferals where coming in, so i went and set up in the barn and managed to nail 6 of them aswell..........only the tip of the iceburg but going to keep me busy for the next month or so.....never mind any rabbits that might be around.

 

just packing everything away in the van and a car pulled up , as it turned out it was the landowners brother-in-law, he got out and we had a chat ( thankfully) he is the manager of a cemetrey for a neighbouring council......and wants me to go and have a look and give him a PRICE for clearing the bunnies !!!!!!! ........happy days.
