its happened to one of my dogs,but not a running dog a terrier my bedlington ,when she was 4 months old. it was a licra man on a push bike came speeding from nowhere and hit her,she broke her pelvis in 3 places .she limps now and then but she doesnt let it bother her when we are out i suspect she will have bad arthritis as she gets older .i never managed to murder the cyclist as he dashed off as quick as he appeared

BAD NEWS THAT BUD. HOPE UR DOG MAKES FULL RECOVERY. U WANT 2 WAIT 4 THT PRICK ON BIKE AND RAG FK OUT OF HIM IF HE DRIVES PAST WHERE U CEEN HIM LAST. ID DEFINATLY MAKE HIM C THE EROR OF HIS CUNTISH WAYS RIDING AN UNINSURED VEHICLE DOWN THE CANAL COULD HAVE BEEN SUM 1S CHILD. HOPE DOG GETS SPEADY RECOVERY.

thanks for everyones replys i spoke to the vet at 5 o clock today and all they said is he has fractured it and they are keeping him over the weekend and the ''bone man'' will look on monday too see wat he wants to do....... NO RUSH !!!!

 

 

i dont have insurance wish i did :) will keep eveyone updated many thanks

I know a lad that had a pup it jumped a fence and got hung up and broke its leg and that has had a full good working life and it has never held the dog back but ive heard of more that have had to retire there dogs or have had them pts as a result of a broken leg so fingers crossed mate he will be fine hope everything works out ok for the both of you's.

sorry to here about your dog mate my dog broke his back leg when he was younger ,not a working dog a pet staffy , the vet said becuase he is young he will be fine if you saw him you would never know he bust his leg no limping or nothing and i walk him miles thrugh the forests he running jumping thrugh rivers and you can tell it happend , all the best

Lads I cant stress highly enough how important I think it is to have insurance on a working lurcher, with insurance you dont have to feck about at your local small animal vet.......who will maybe make a complete balls of the repair, you just ask to be refered to a top bone specialist and its job done.

 

For the price of a packet of fags a week, you can have complete confidence that no matter what the injury there is a very good chance the dog will be as good as before.

Wilf can you tell me where the best place is to get insurance,

Never had it but think i will get it after all look how easy it can be,
