  1. What’s your thoughts on deerhound crosses?...what crosses do you lot keep?...what game are they used for?...any specific lines and if you would like to share a pic of your weapon(weapons) feel free to do so... ATB king.
  2. Just got this stunning little bitch, nearly 12 months old, Deerhound x Bedie grey. I used to go out with my dad's Lurchers when I was a kid but I'm a female in my 30's now and struggling to get back into the swing of things. I'd love to have this girl knocking down bunnies but I just don't know where to start, I've barely seen a rabbit or and other quarry since I moved here. Any of you experts in my area fancy giving me some advice/practical experience (hunting related only)
  3. 4. Anyone ever worked a deaf lurcher by any chance?..reason behind the question is I’ve bred a retired dog to a Merle bitch an I took my pup from it the biggest of the lot black and white with two ice blue eyes but I’ve noticed he can’t hear anything bangs or anything like that there’s only a odd reaction to some stuff but his eyesight is 100% very good eyes. I’m just curious because it’s all I have from this old dog and I was thinking could I use the pup lamping and out with terriers any info be [BANNED TEXT]. The father was not Merle only mother...
  5. What in your opinions would be the best thing to breed a deerhound/greyhound to but still looking to keep size and speed just something nice to throw into the mix or even more greyhound what do you lot think?... Cheers
  6. Haven't been on here in ages, just thought I'd share a few recent pictures of my pup Simba as he approaching his 1st birthday, he's all stripped out for the summer and showing my plenty of promise of what's to come this season. He's just touching on 26tts now, bigger than I expected seeing as dam and sire were 24.5 and 24tts respectively. He's had a handful of rabbits on the lamp end of season to get an idea of what the game is about and has no trouble picking them up, he's already used his size to his advantage a couple of times and keeping the freezer full too. Really happy with him so far e
  7. Help I’m looking for a pup to meet my needs. I will be hunting rabbit, fox, and deer. I will be hunting pastures and easements. I need something with EXTREME speed for hunting cow-fields and horse-fields in Pennsylvania. If the deer make it to the woods, they are gone. We don’t have miles of giant fields like the Staghound guys do out west for running coyote. Does anyone produce Whippet x Staghound crosses? Can anyone show any video of Dave Platts “English Deerhounds” actually working? Would a purebred Greyhound be too fragile for field work?
  8. Anybody still running anything from davie platts dogs?
  9. Hi, I am still quite new on here and haven't really posted much at all. Well, I've finally made the decision to try and buy a hound. Since reading Lurchers and Longdogs as a boy I suppose I've preferred "running dogs." The only other type I would put any effort into getting would be a good Alsatian. I have done a bit o' thinking and a Deerhound or Scottish Deerhound if you prefer or a long dog with a lot of Deerhound would suit me fine. There are several fantastic Deerhound breeders webpages on line. Some offering remarkably detailed info about pedigrees which must take long hours a

  14. See original forum topic on earthdogs section. Two lurchers are among the stolen dogs tan, smooth coated lurcher dog, very big and strong, cuts on nose. other is a broken coated blue lurcher bitch wheaten greyhound cross. Hi, We have had no leads on dogs stolen. No sign of them. It was our name , address and telephone number that was put up on gumtree by someone else. They did it 4 times, we got the ads taken down as soon as we saw them and eventually had to get the telephone number barred from gumtree to stop them going up. We also think that both are linked. Either the person puttin
