  3. Just finished this Tanto style knife. It is made for a KITH (Knife In a hat) on another forum. You make a knife to a chosen style, names all go in a " hat" and you all get someone else's knife. This one is made from a HSS Planer blade, black denim wrap Micarta and copper trims. 4. My lad has been back in the shed again. Here is his latest design. A hefty chopper made from 7mm Landrover Leaf Spring. With a 200mm blade she is a beast! Will get some more pics up when it is finished. P1090245 by Terry Griffiths, on Flickr P1090244 by Terry Griffiths, on Flickr
  5. Another design completed by my son....I can't get near the grinder now-a days. One for the kitchen in 1095, very thin ground, will make a great slicer. Meranti scales. He also makes solid wood chopping boards one can be seen in the background of some of the pics. 6. Recently made this for a returning customer. He wanted an Opinel with antler handle as close to the original shape as possible. It is a No9 Stainless Inox blade. 7. My lad recently did a bit of wild back-packing/camping and wanted a light but useful hatchet to carry in his pack. He ground the shape out an old axe head and made the handle from ash. Very Vikingesk in appearance. 8. Recently asked by a member to make a Seax blank for him to fit his own antler handle to. Made form series 2 LandRover leaf spring. It is a serious chopper! 9. Following a request from a work colleague to make a Sgian Dubh for his son in-law this is the very rustic end result. I had a free hand the only request was his initials in runic writing somewhere on the knife. He works in forestry so i thought chainsaw chain forge welded to series 2 Land Rover spring was appropriate. The Yew handle is local to where he grew up. 10. Latest commission for a member on here. Blade is 01 with differential temper. Full flat grind Black canvas micarta cast direct onto handle First one with official Griff maker mark
  11. This design has a special reminiscence for me as it was the design of the first knife i was involved in making some 35 years ago. An old boy, an engineer to trade took an interest in me as a lad and forged up a similar blade with me i "helped". He gave it to me some time later and i still use it today. It is a good all rounder for butchering up a carcass, recently helping a mate who has a small holding and does his own butchering and he admired it. As he gave me half a carcass for the freezer i have made it as a gift for him. Series 2 Land-rover leaf spring deferentially heat treated blad
  12. This is the latest opinel i just finished. My own carving this time. A no12 with a lion head carved on the end. Phosphor bronze liners for smooth action.
  13. As the regulars will know i have done a few carved antler Opinels. This one is not my carving. I had 3 pendants made with the idea of marrying them with an opinel. This one is 98mm long and houses a no 6 Opinel very nicely. Self lubricating phosphor bronze contact plates and collar. Silver pendant ring for attaching to a chain or thong if desired.
  14. Been busy with other things.....but keeping the hand in made up this antler tine Opinel No 8. Will make some more when i get time. Griff
