I think Ballywalter has been 'flogged to death' I have tried to answer all the posts but except for waiting to hear from Kirsty a definitive statement on the breeder and breeding of her dog and making comment on that I do not intend to post further. Our team having completed the 'clear up' at Ballywalter are now totally focused on making our 50th Fair at Shanes Castle the 'golden event' it deserves to be. I hope to see and meet both critics and supporters for two great days at Shanes Castle on the 7th & 8th July. Our 2012 Web site www.irishgamefair.com will go live next week. Thanks t

Preparations are well under way for Ballywalter with the House and grounds in great order. This is one of the few Game Fairs anywhere where the house, lawns and yard are part of the fair. To my mind this is what a Game Fair venue should look like with country sports people of all ages, classes and creeds coming together to celebrate our great sporting history and traditions. Dunsilly Kennels yesterday Sunday, was alive with the sound of showing and racing Whippets, parents and children, Terrier and Lurcher men who came as spectators to show their support , as the first Sporting Whippet Club NI Show of the year got under way. The weather held out all day with no rain, but a bitterly cold wind kept everyone happed up with a few layers of clothing. Janet and her committee, as usual did a superb job, with the showing and racing conducted with impeccable organisation. The Orchard County was buzzing with laughter and excitement yesterday, as the first dog show of the year took place at Annaghmore Raceway. This show was organised for Charity and run by Fiona Devlin right in the heart of apple country. With the beauty of the countryside, good company, and the sun shinning what more could we ask for on a great family day out. This was one of the largest Dog shows I have see in a very long time, and went without a hiccup.
