  14. My personal opinion is that the judging this year was not up to scratch , . i do not know if anybody noticed but in the rustle dogs class a bitch was entered and called out ?? cmon here its not that hard to tell the difference between a dog and a bitch .
  15. Shanes Castle Co Antrim was the venue last weekend for The Great Game Fairs of Ireland 50th Golden Game Fair. Shanes Castle is steeped in history and sits on the north-east shores of Lough Neagh. Built in 1345 by a member of the O'Neill dynasty, it was originally called Eden-duff-carrick. Shane MacBrien O'Neill changed the name to Shane's Castle in 1722. What a memorable weekend we had at this ruined Castle. Friday morning seen the launch of the 50th Game Fair of Ireland, carried out by the Deputy First Minister Martin Mc Guinness in the presence of Mr Roy Thompson, Mayor of Antrim, an
  16. I am delighted to say that in spite of the possibly the worst weather in the three weeks before the fair that any game fair has had to face we delivered one of the best ever Irish Game Fairs ever. Crowds were excellent in fact the massive crowd that turned out on Sunday was truly humbling. We had an excellent mix of traders many of whom have had a disastrous summer with fairs and events including the Scottish Fair being cancelled - most did good business and can't wait to get back to the Great Game Fairs of Ireland. Two photos which summed the fair up for me : which I will entitled ' the

  18. To whom it may concern... i hope this race is run fairly...i suggest there should be 3 line judges in case of a dispute(which has happened at several races this year already) then it can go to judges vote. i also suggest that all dogs entered for the master mcgrath should have names placed in a ballot box and drew at random for each heat in front of all those taking part. I would also suggest 4 races of 5 dogs in each and a final with 4 dogs. You all know who i am and most of you will know that i have experience in organising and running races in the past. I think this is the fairest way of r
  19. Who/what won ? Runner-Up ? Heat winners ? Any pics ? Cheers.
  20. I haven't been to a lot of fairs or shows in Ireland over the past years,I try to attend the odd one across the water but today I was at shanes mainly to help out friends with there IWTF stand. I have to commend Albert j and his team for putting on a really enjoyable fair in not to nice of conditions,I found the settings, the displays, the stalls and the staff to be second to none. It was nice to catch up with some faces from the past and also to meet some new ones, there was a great turn out of dogs and a good standard the judges had there work cut out. Again to all who were involved from ch
  21. Some 'gentlemen' removed our large yellow advertising banner from the wall at Ballywalter. We have a description of the people involved but not the vehicle number. A joke is a joke BUT I am fairly attached to this banner it having served me well for many years and designed specifically for this wall. I am offering £100 for its return - NO QUESTIONS asked - or for information leading to its return. PM me or email me to irishgamefair@btinternet.com AlbertJ
  22. On behalf of the Irish Working Terrier Federation can I give a big thank you to the organisers of the excellent game fair at Shanes Castle yesterday. Allowing us to set up our stall next to the terrier ring was brilliant for our organisation, especially as the I.W.T.F. is still very much in it's infancy. Also can I give a big thank you to those of you who visited our stall and joined your club to the I.W.T.F. It was great craic meeting you all and your support and help will help us in our aims to keep the right to work and own our terriers here in Ireland. Keep an eye on our web-s
