On Saturday night i decided it was time to set off out after Charlie. The weather was just perfect, it was very dark with slight drizzle and a light breeze. It was the night after heavy rain and strong winds. Getting ready i grabbed the 222 out of the cabinet and screwed on the T8 whilst deciding which bullets to use, due to windy conditions i went with the Remington Express 50gr PSP. I grabbed a few calls, snacks and was ready for take off, when all of a sudden my girlfriend insisted she accompanied me. After what felt like 2 hours she was finally ready. When we walked outside the door it was

Recently aquired some new permission for Rabbits,Fox and Mink on a golf course in this area, but after speaking to the Director I think a rimfire may be in order as oppose to my usual ferrets and nets approach. I would drop some snares down but I live a little too far away to be able to check them reguarly enough. I want to do a good job for the guy regardless as permission is permission nowadays. So if someone fancies coming down for a reccy and let me now what they think with regards to shooting clearance it would be much appreciated. Experienced guns only and insurance is a mus

Hi Guys....... I shoot aprox 3000 acres and this year I have noticed a decline in rabbit numbers. My personal belief is that the wet weather through the summer has had a drastic effect on the resident population. Has anyone else noticed the same?

Went out to my dads land to zero in my new CZ this afternoon. Got it almost spot on, think it still needs a little fine tuning the wind really picked up with drizzle as well so not ideal zeroing conditions. My brother went and spoke to a farmer from up the road that he used to work for and after saying about my new rifle's he said i'd be more then welcome to shoot on his land, as he's got a slight rabbit problem. The man that used to shoot all his rabbits moved away 5 months ago, the farmer usually just shoots the rabbits that come within range of his house, so some of the fields are full

Well guys i just got back from a 3 day fire course to find my FAC had arrived!! Sent away the paperwork on the 12th of may, had my interview on the 31st of may and FAC was delivered to my house on 15th of june. So 36 day in all, not bad i'd say! Gave a quick call to my local gun dealer and went for a look this afternoon.. Ended up buying a new CZ 452 style 22" in .17hmr and a A-tec mod never got a scope or rings so any suggesting would be welcome, thinking of something with 12 or 14 mag, budget maybe around £200-£250. Lucky for me a customer had just come back with a CZ

I know this question has probably been asked before, but I am a novice and have a lot (approx 7 years) experience with air rifles, been clay shooting a couple of times, and want an fac for a .17 hmr. My grandfather has land and I would like to shoot rabbits and the "oppurtunistic" fox although I probably won't shoot any! I would also like to do some target shooting just at cans and paper targets etc on the same land. Does this provide good reason for an fac for this gun of this calibre? It is a 45 minute drive to the land and he would give me full permission to shoot. Also, would i be allowed

Had a look out last night for some bunnies, a good night the weather was spot on, nice breeze and rain on and off. Shot over 250, but lost a lot in hedges and cover.. Final nights tally picked up was 220, straight to the game dealers on the way back...Need to frontline myself methinks ..

just come back from a bit of permission ive been ferreting for several years. Ive just got my shotgun cert back after turning it in when my shooting pal died 10 years ago bless him. ive bought a little moderated baikal 410 as i do a lot of ferreting around stables and i thought a moderated gun would work well where i cannot get in to net. so with a couple of different sizes of cartridges to try it out i ventured forth as there are plenty of rabbits about in rushes and nettles and i had cleared all this with the landowner. Now in all the years ive wandered this bit with the ferrets and the
