By far the largest and most successful event of its kind in the south of Ireland and with Shanes Castle Fair worthy of the title of one of the Great Game Fairs of Ireland.   16. A few miles outside the Village of Clough, Co Down and set in the shadow of the beautiful mountains of Mourne, was the venue for the annual Shannagh Working Terrier Club Dog Show last Saturday. The sun shone in abundance, with not a cloud in sight as we made our way through the winding roads and beautiful countryside of this wonderful home land of ours. Although the crowd was medium size in attendance, the craic and commaradrie was good.   17. The Irish Working Terrier Federation are pleased to announce that they will have their stall close to the terrier ring at the upcoming Game Fair at Birr Castle, Co. Offaly this Sunday, August 26th. This will enable any new club to join the IWTF and any member clubs to join up new members. Subscription is 10 euro per adult and 4 euro for junior members.   22. Unfortunately our whippet judge has had to withdraw from judging at Birr on Sunday 26th August. We are very grateful to Paul Reynolds for taking on the job at short notice and we hope whippet owners give him a fantastic entry. The show starts at 12.30 sharp after the Mourne Digging Championships. PLEASE NOTE : Terrier, Lurcher and whippet competitors enter through Gate C. Please note there will be different ( to normal) exiting arrangements to take pressure of the entrance. Exhibitors will exit at the bottom of the field rather than going back up the field . I was thinking of trying to organise a coach for any members of the IWTF and any other people interested in making an effort to support RISE and the country game fair,I think a number of around 50 people would be needed to make it cost effective .the coach would be leaving from Belfast feel free to pm me if interested ?
