Down to Wiltshire yesterday evening to meet up with Foxdropper and RabbitController for a stroll about to try for some rabbits and try and tag some troublesome chicken nabbing fox's. As seems to be the case at the moment the rabbits are either out in force or not at all and this looked to be one of those evenings where they were elsewhere. The hares didn't seem to be too bothered with the conditions and were all over the place although these were left in peace. The night didn't look too promising on Tuesday being bright, cold and clear... and cold... by southern standards anyway There was a bit of a breeze that added to or more deducted from the temperature and the ground was crispy underfoot with the light surface water amongst the pasture in some areas shattering loudly when you trod on it. Fox Control on a Moor Managed for Red Grouse

Hi Folks, Anyone got any tips on shooting foxes on a Moor, I belong to a group of volunteers trying to increase the Red Grouse population on a Moor, we burn Heather and control crows numbers and now I want to tackle the foxes. I only have a .17HMR CZ Varmint and am aware of the limited range I have. ( - 100 Yds for Charlie) The ground is about 25 mile round trip from me and I usually go out 1 a week so want to maximise my time out there by getting all the help I can. Popped out with Foxdropper last night to a place that’s a bit further afield than his other spots but holds limitless possibilities covering a large area and interspersed with blocks of mixed mature woodland , pasture and arable. It’s got DEER written all over it but they haven’t been seen in the numbers that used to frequent the place apparently with only the odd few pottering about so it was also an opportunity to gauge numbers for the fast approaching buck season and assist with a menace of another persuasion. I know this question has probably been asked before, but I am a novice and have a lot (approx 7 years) experience with air rifles, been clay shooting a couple of times, and want an fac for a .17 hmr. My grandfather has land and I would like to shoot rabbits and the "oppurtunistic" fox although I probably won't shoot any! I would also like to do some target shooting just at cans and paper targets etc on the same land. Does this provide good reason for an fac for this gun of this calibre? It is a 45 minute drive to the land and he would give me full permission to shoot. Also, would i be allowed
