  1. I totally agree the man is a bad apple, he must be by all accounts from the genuine people on here. But it's so laughable and ludicrous with your total untruths.
  2. 'The truth certainly does prevail"!The truth of the matter is I'm correct in what I say. "The green eyed monster rears its ugly head once again.
  3. FoxDropper, you have a mental problem that is for sure. All members on here know of your experiences with Bluck. You suffer from extreme paranoia with your ill-baked statements towards anyone who seems to be something of a challenge to you. I asked you a simple question about the county of Wiltshire regarding a well known Falconer then you get paranoid. (To daft to laugh at!) And I'm certainly not condescending! Once again you've made yourself to look a total fool with one's behaviour of wanting total authority. The truth is, you don't want to know the truth only what you believe. Good advice
  4. Fat Ferret, I certainly don't know Johnny Bluck, never met him, never want to. It's quite remarkable how certain type characters never seem to engage their thoughts before they have the true facts. 'I'm like the next genuine guy I don't like fakes, and there are plenty that abound. Fat Ferret, was your remark one of a certain type of sarcasm or was yours a valid statement? Bluck certainly get's the attention of many no doubt ,which will further is cause. "Avoid and ignore that's the only way those type will not prosper in anyway or form"! 'He's a social climber of the highest order"! Act

  6. Denys James Watkins-Pitchford was a British naturalist and a childrens author who wrote under the name BB. If you go on Ebay RH and type in books by BB, many 1st editions are commanding high prices. Hope that helps mate? ATB My favourite author of all time. He wrote several children's book but always incorporated fieldsports into them. He also wrote for a long time for The Shooting Times and they still reprint his articles regularly. His wildfowling articles are unsurpassed IMO. You can feel the breeze in your face and smell the salt when you read them. I've 8 or 9 of his books. His
  7. I'm very sorry for the loss of certain dogs. How is the little Terrier? I'm not bothered what people think of myself but those dogs are your best friends and they never let you down. Ok perhaps sometimes when working but for companions they have no equal. So called friends, brother's sisters and your parents will turn against you. But dogs, never, ever! Please keep us informed.
  8. Certain books that may stir the imagination! Captain Jocelyn Lucas :The Sealyam. The Otter Fox-hunting in Cheshire. Never Out-foxed Wildfowl in studies words and pictures. Artist Richard Robjent, Author Brian Martin
  9. Down the bright stream is a BB classic and IMO should be made compulsory in schools, LOL. Better than any Shakespeare.Got a couple of BB books myself Neil. The little grey men is good! A childrens book so suits me lol. Some of BB books are really expensi I totally agree about BB. He was far a head of his time and his book(The little Grey Men) inspired the genius of the great, but troubled soul, Syd Barrett of (Pink Floyd) fame.
  10. Yes Foxy it is a good book and a wealth of information. The well known biologist David Macdonald has wrote some good books also. I'm reading one of his in particular concerning 'Rabies in Red Foxes"! When I was a youngster I knew a Sottish Biologist and I used a clever Russell that was something of an expert at bolting Foxes. Whereas I'd handle them while the friend of mine collard them in the process. I'm not a liar and I've only ever been bit bad, not nipped but bit really bad in approx nearly 40 years. That was when I was doing the Terrier work for the South Notts. A young friend who keeper
  11. Hello to all members, I Just thought I'd post a few illustrations of various books that may interest not just the Terrier folk but also many other readers also. Please accept my apologies if people think that I have posted within the inappropriate forum. However, by displaying a somewhat different range of books the topic of interest may just reach certain interested parties of readership. Also it would be of interest perhaps not just to myself but to others who are interested in books; not just reading but also to collectors or well known bibliophiles. Hopin
  12. With you being from that area I thought you may have heard of the great Falconer (Roger Upton). However, due to his old age I don't know whether he's still alive. Hope you are well.
  13. Dear Members, I had a little time a few days ago and I was in the act of perusing certain titles. Does any of our members have any good books on "Taxidermy", old titles or new?. I did manage to acquire a really good book a few weeks a go now. The book in question is a wealth of information and also very well produced. Of course I will see what response I receive from certain interested people, then I may send some photos of the book. In my opinion the book is a great addition to anyones sporting Library. Hoping everyone is ok. I have been offered a large collecti
  14. First of all could my brother and myself send his family and relatives our deepest condolences at this particular sad time.On many occasions we'd seen Arthur at many of the Lurcher and Terrier shows in the late 70s and into the 80s.After the 80s the shows started to go into deep decline, some people will perhaps disagree. The man was a wonderful ambassador for all field sports, especially (Terriers). What I particularly gathered was that he had a somewhat happy demeanour within his personality. A particular good trait in my opinion. 'A quite type when I always saw him. However, we didn't
  15. Dear members, and readers, also to Dogman, who asked for certain recommendations regarding the reading of certain good books and their authors. Starting off with certain natural history titles which can be daunting simply due to vast amount of books that are on the market today, antiquarian, rare and modern titles abound. A book I'm going to read at bedtime to see if it helps myself sleep. The book is called: The Bedside book of Psycology, from perception to personality. By Christian Jarrett and Johanne Gisburg. A good little book. However, not for everyone! 2)Goring. The rise and fall of t
  16. Hello Dear Members, At this unusual early period of March I walk around the local woodlands, mainly in order to watch the male Woodcock (Roding), a type of mating flight to attract females. I carry straight through to the month of May when the elusive Nightjars come back on the breeding grounds, the males always arrives on the breeding grounds before the Female. Like I promised, if certain people pm myself and wants to come and see them then of course they are welcome. I know the woods well and just a few years back one of my brothers Russell got onto a scen
  17. Neil, I totally agree regarding your comments concerning the mounting of pets, dogs etc. In my opinion, to myself, it would degrade your beloved dog in question. 'What happens if the dog wasn't to the highest of standards in workmanship "? Imagine going into a room and being confronted with your dog of which would in my opinion need to be mounted to the highest of standards. 'I'm extremely confident with the majority of people upon this particular subject, in that it isn't in the best of taste to let all and sundry view your little dog, and on display is in my opinion somewhat distasteful."Wh
  18. Neil, the Otter mask was one that belonged to Bert Gripton after a very long hunt with "Border Counties".
  19. The particular photo in question was taken at Mother's house approx 35 years ago now Myself pictured together with Jez, my Musket and Betsy.Unfortunately both met their untimely death. However, they were a great team, but such a tremendous loss.....
