  1. Come on guys, lets not fall out. The rason for me starting this topic was that due to the poor availability and high price of left-handed .243 rifles, I only want to have to buy one. Anything I can do to increase the life of the barrel without detriment to accuracy or bullet velocity is going to be a plus. I only want to use tried and tested methods, as I don't want to cause any damage to the gun. Thanks to you all for your replies and advise, Regards James
  2. 12g tracers and rocking horse poo come in the same box don't they???? If you do source some give us a shout mate......
  3. Thanks for that. I do get over to York Guns now and then........
  4. I checked out the web site Gary. Looks good and the prices seem reasonable too.
  5. Why do you have to stick with it? Is there a reason why you can't go back to normal un-coated bullets? I have seen the silver tips, are they expensive?
  6. I didn't need a countersign on mine, just 2 referees. BTW £60 instead of £50 buys you a co-terminous FAC at the same time.
  7. Where can I buy this from, and is is expensive?
  8. I have a Browning Silver. I didn't pay as much as that for it, but I love it and would have payed £400 if that had been the price tag. I will not sell it or swap it anytime in the forseable future. Just use it and enjoy it, if you get rid of it you may not get a second chance at one of these...........
  9. Try getting a P8 or a T8, and a spare rear bush so that you can get one mod for both guns.
  10. Can you give me a quick run-down on the method you use please?
  11. To all you reloaders out there, your thoughts on moly coating bullet heads please. As far as I can see it is a simple process that can prolong the life of a gun barrel, and reduce fouling. This sounds like a good idea, what do you think?
  12. Fancy seeing you here Mark! I'll ask him about that.
  13. T8 or predator 8? Your thoughts please ladies and gentlemen...... I am told that the T8 is the quieter, but the Predator can be taken apart for cleaning. Price wise there is only about £15 difference.
  14. Nikko sterling nite eater. Great gear, and so much cheaper!
  15. When you've got the finished shape, use fine wet & dry 200 grade then 400 grade to get a finish like glass. Oil with danish oil at least 8 coats with plenty of time to dry in between. smooth between coats with 400 grade wet & dry. Apply oil, wait 1 minute then wipe off excess before allowing to dry. After the final coat is dry buff to a soft sheen.
  16. You may find that home office guidelines state .22 centrefire as a minimum for fox.
  17. Move to North Yorks bud. Full appilcation for FAC less than one month. Last variation took 2 days, and was hand delivered back by the FLO.
  18. A couple of months back, I had just finished a woodworm job in a loft. I came down, took off my mask and suit, and tidied the gear away. I washed my hands and put my watch and wedding ring back on. It was then I realised I had left something behind in the loft. I went back up the steps, lifted the hatch with one hand, and then slipped off the rung of the steps hanging myself in the hatch by only my wedding ring. How I didn't pull my finger off with my entire body weight hanging on it, I'll never know. I managed to regain my footing on the steps, and had to punch the hatch out as it was stuck f
  19. You'd rather watch a bunch of pansies who have 6 months off at the first sign of a bruise
