  1. Had quite a few muntjac with my .222,privi 50g drop them well, ballistic tip are a bit "messy"
  2. I shoot a cz527 in .222,best load so far; Cci primer 20.5 g Hogden 4198 50g v max Mark
  3. Last make of scope I would buy,had one,Illuminated reticule failed after six months,MTC promised to replace, after 3 months of unkept promises,I gave it a lad in the village. I put it down to experience.
  4. I'm using 40g nosler varmageddon, have been for the last six months, devastating on foxes out of a .222,shot 256 foxes in 2014,very few runners with these, they seem to dump all their energy with very few bullets exiting
  5. Very true Alsone, makes you wonder, still think the most dangerous calibre is the subsonic .22lr,sounds like a pop gun with a mod and bounces like crazy, and thousands are fired compared to c/f rounds.
  6. Had the ico tec 500,sold it and bought a s/h foxpro fury 11, as previously said its a case of using every advantage when foxing. Foxpro is a better sounding unit but costs a fair bit more.
  7. .222 I have two a tikka with night vision and a CZ with a Meopta on it for daytime long /lamp,never found the need for more, good out to 220 yards. I also have a .243 that loaded with 58g is about the same as a 22-250 and never use it for foxing. Reloading components wise.222 uses same powder and heads as the other c/f .22's,only thing that's different is the dies.
  8. Yeah did that one with the photon..... Rubbish never kept zero , had a N750 for a while which is now on the .22, but I have a ATN Trident gen 2+ on my .222, and it's staying that way. Fancied the x sight for the .22.
  9. Shame as the photon aint good enough, seems these latest digitals are hyped and marketed long before they are rolling out of the factory. Hope they're as good as the hype, don't really fancy parking £50 with Scott County for a few months.
  10. Yes you save £350,but it's not the same, maybe shoots the same, but dosnt feel the same and you've got to hold/use it all day. I ended up with a Sako 85 in .243,couldn't really afford it at the time but I'm glad I did.
  11. Anyone have one yet, lots if press about them, but no one seems to have one?
  12. Very good results from mine it's from Maplin takes about 50 .222 or 30 .243. I use 2/3 warm water,1/3 white vinegar and a few drops of washing up liquid, usually takes 3 or 4 480 second cycles, then a dry off overnight on the radiator.
  13. Extreme pigeon 34g of 5's really do well at range.
  14. Had a lean few weeks on the pigeon down here in Kent, had 3 ! on Saturday all stuffed with ivy berries, lots of fields of cut caulis, all nicely disced in and not a bird on it. We need some hard weather.
