I have done plenty of snaring but as its in a park next to a first school i think the village snow flakes would get a little upset. I cant put drop boxes in as the boundry is already fenced with very expensive looking mesh fencind. Thats why i think cage traps are the answer.

Hi Guys

I have been contacted by the parish council as rabbits are causing a lot of damage in the small park next to the village school. The rabbits are travelling in from a neighboring disused garden but the owner does not want any measures taken against them even though she lectured me for ten minutes about the damage they are causing in her garden! So shooting and ferreting are out of the question so cage traps are the best option.  Have you guys got any recommendations for suppliers and any hints would be appreciated. Pegandgun on this forum seems to be a user of cage traps?

Listening to David Attenbrough talking about how we can leave the country in a better state for the next generation got me thinking.

I walked around one of my permissions and saw Lapwings, Oystercatchers and grey partridges.  I feel that all the Predator control i carry out must fall into this category but the BBC wont acknowledge it.  We did not create modern land use practices but we seem to be supporting the wildlife that does poorly in our modern agricultural landscape, when do you think the mainstream media will wake up to this?

those ranges are still there in Ponteland. Dont think all the money people who live there like it though. Its run by the MOD so there is not a lot they can do. How are things over in NZits a place im very envious of.

[Foxes attacking new born calves]

The neighboring farm to our shoot had a newborn healthy calf killed by a fox.  My mate came and got it the next night with his thermal setup.  Not sure if the calf was fully out when attacked.  Like you say they are opportunist's.

I bought a Benelli super nova pump this year and i really like it.  Always had semi auto,s for a work gun before but i do like the pump and it works really well with my Atec moderator.

I have just bought a benelli super nova , i can use it with my atec moderator around the farm buildings, its real quiet with subsonic cartridges and it will go up to 3.5 magnums if i ever go goose shooting.  It sits on the front of the quad when i go feeding and never misses a beat.  No left hand option but the ejection port is so far forward i dont think that would be an issue for you.

Stav you will like the C50 had mine for two weeks now and i think its the business.  Got one zero profile on my .243 for my light weight foxing rounds and press a few buttons and i can use the profile for my 90 grain rounds for roe deer.  Good piece of kit inmho.

I know what you mean Stav about running around in June/July.  Storm Arwin has damaged a few of my Pens but the wire was old and has been patched up many times so i suppose it was Karma.
