  2. my dugs were running in the snow, my bitch seemed ok at the time then later she wouldnt put weight on her back right leg. i think its the fibula area? good leg is solid, up the back of the leg injured one is swollen in the area and moves. going to get her into the vets tomorrow. i never notice it at first, kicking myself i missed it. looked her over and thought a few days rest would be ok. she was ok untill later in the day, was fine all the way back to the car. anyone experienced this before?

    edit: common calcaneail tendan???

  3.

A few pics from a few recent morning ferreting trips

1.A decent wee morning ferreting, much needed experience for these ferrets. The young hob is still playfull but he'll come good. Long net was spot on at the first bit, 2 rabbits hit it, glen held them place untill i got over. Glen picked another up not long after.
I couldnt find the mk3 ferret finder collar batteries this morning, decided to risk it. Sods law, the two jills caught two underground that i couldnt get to.
Moved onto another bit, if i had placed the long nets on the other side it would've been another 3, i decided to cover the hill before it dips and leave the other bit open hoping glen could pick anything running up, he was close each time but the wee buggers got into the gorse just as he was about to strike. Good learning for the ferrets and me lol.
A decent morning, left with the 3 rabbits..

Got some scran out these, salt and chilli rabbit legs, peking rabbit legs and rabbit jambalaya

     2. Joined by ross, his young bitch jess and ferrets/ Away with the 5, one dig to and the ferrets caught 3 under that we couldnt get to. good experience for the young ferrets and ross young bitch jess.

3.Cracking mornings ferreting, Kelts been out of action for a while. First bit of ferreting for her in ages, she marked well, anticipated bolts, picked up a few that escaped. Jills have suprised me, working well. 3 digs to them , first rabbit of the day was a bloody dig, started to dig then they moved... Got there in the end. Hobs still learning. Good few hours out alround, left with 13.

Sorry about the picture quallity. I really need a new camera/phone lol.

  4. I've used abattoir meat for the dugs for years with no problems.  I spoke to a local dog food supplier who sells raw, after I told him I could feed my pot lickers cheaper he tried to put me off saying that the meat they use was intentended for humans,  human grade meat and that stuff from the abattoir Is probably full of infections / bacteria and drugs.

Anyone had any issues with abattoir food?

  5. Bitch was spayed 3 days ago,  just spotted her licking the area for first time,  yous reckon should dab area with salt water to reduce chances of infection? Only been using the head cover for night as been managing to keep her away from it untill now

Vet spotted a second small marmory, decided to leave both untill after spay now as it was to much skin to remove at once, one nipple will need to be removed.

  6. Have some big confifers in bottom of garden.  Can i build a concrete pad ontop of the soil instead of digging down and hitting roots? Avoiding killing the trees or making them weaker in winds. garden is alittle sloped so if i was to build ontop then it would level out. Pad would be for a garage.
